How long have you been playing World of Warcraft?
Off and on since vanilla.
How much experience do you have with roleplaying?
I have played on Steamwheedle Cartel since the Burning Legion. I have RP'd for a long time on the server. I also play tabletop RPGs every wednesday, thursday and saturday evening with friends, which I have been doing for the last 7 years.
How confident would you say you are with the English language?
Native speaker, I have no issues with english (except the occasional spelling mistake!)
If you were to join the guild, how often would you be available?
I'm on for some time most days. I would be available mondays and tuesdays for the big sessions, as well as on weekends. I am typically busy on wednesdays, thursdays and saturday evenings.
If you were to join the guild what would be your priority when online?
I also PvE & PvP. I'm always down to RP, but I do like to mix it up. Obviously, guild events would take priority.
Why do you wish to join the guild?
I have played Blood Elves almost exclusively since TBC. I've returned to the game with Legion and I'm looking to hit the ground running with BfA. Your guild has an interesting theme that fits my RP interests and looks to be a fun community!
Section II - Character Information:
What is your character's name?
What is your character's current occupation?
Bounty hunter and mercenary. She'll generally take whatever work she can.
What is your character's race?
What is the reason for your character's interest in the Convocation? If he or she is not an elf, what would lead them to an elven organization?
Dio can smell the coming of war in the wind and savours it. She has been anticipating action against the Alliance for some time now, and wishes to aid Silvermoon directly. She has been operating as a mercenary for the last 6 years and has learned a lot of lessons and made a fair few enemies. She missed her chance to fight the Alliance in Pandaria, but she will not this time.
Point out a target to her and she'll shoot.
What does your character look like?
Dio is relatively young still. She has blonde hair, tied in a practical bun that keeps it out of her eyes. Her ears sport a large number of gold piercings. She is quite lean, but her arms are muscular.
She has a round face that is blemished with a number of scars. A particularly large one adorns her left cheek.
She wears a functional set of mail, in the traditional Sin'dorei style, that provides protection. This armour may have been pristine once, but it looks to have been worn down and put through a its paces over time. The metal is dull but still looks to be strong.
She wears a large pair of goggles, sporting various microscopes and a targetter, that betray the traditional Sin'dorei look.
What does your character feel about the Blood Elves' place in the Horde? What is their opinion of the other races?
Whilst Dio didn't have a strong opinion on the Horde under Thrall, she did believe that Kael'thas was the salvation for all Sin'Dorei. Like many of her compatriots, she viewed them as a means to an end. Ultimately, Dio is a pragmatist, and feels that now the Sin'Dorei have thrown their lot in with the Horde it would do best to stick by them... while it remains advantageous.
She respects the strength of Orcs, but feels that their honor can get in the way of practicalities.
She is dismissive of Tauren - though they are large in size, and can be very fierce at times, she feels they are ultimately too pacifist to make it on the geopolitical stage and are impeding Horde strategy. They are a fine tool, or meal, and nothing more.
Dio dislikes Trolls out of instinct, but has a grudging respect for a few of them that she has fought beside in the past. Individuals may be fine, but as a whole... they still live in mud huts. That said, their piercings, tattoos and bone ornaments hold her fascination.
She trusts the Undead to act in their own interest. Such predictability is a welcome thing in an ally. She doesn't like to be downwind of the more... putrid Lordaeronians, but she does welcome their ambition. Sylvanas's work at securing a lasting alliance for the Sin'Dorei should not be forgotten.
Dio has worked with Goblins quite often in the past, and while she does not like how effective they can be at negotiating contracts she respects their entrepreneurial nature. Indeed, she has many contacts in the Cartels who supply her with innovative tools.
What does your character think of the current state of the Horde? Branching off from this, tell us in brief about their opinion on Thrall's and Garrosh's Horde.
Before the Blood Elves formally joined the Horde, she had fought alongside many humans as part of her mercenary work, but always found them extremely foolish and often very arrogant.
She had no opinion on Thrall; his leadership was one of absence in her opinion. Thrall was powerless in the face of Alliance aggression. Garrosh, on the other hand, seemed prepared to finally stand up to their provocations. She was engaged in mercenary work during the Siege of Orgrimmar, and was honestly glad that she didn't have to choose a side in that conflict at all.
She feels more confident in the Horde's future now that Sylvanas is in charge - after all, was she not a Sin'Dorei once?
What was your character's family like?
Dio was born to a poor family in what is now the Ghostlands. Her father was a tracker and hunter, and her mother died in childbirth. She lived with him far from the city, nestled in the forest of South Quel'thalas. From a young age she was taught how to read the land, how to hunt and how to craft an arrow. Likewise, she also learned of the joy in killing a target from afar while young. Indeed, she was so skilled with a bow that she was accepted into the Farstriders once she reached maturity. Her father died in the Scourge invasion.
What was your character's life like before they chose to join the Convocation? Give us a summary thereof.
Dio was originally a ranger with the Farstriders before the fall however she was expelled from the order in disgrace after her decision-making lead to another rangers' death.
She traveled South Azeroth as a mercenary and was absent from Quel'thalas when the Scourge attacked Silvermoon. On her travels north she found that the Blood Elves had been expelled from the Alliance - betrayed at their ultimate hour of need.
Once Kael'thas was denounced as a traitor Dio was distraught. If he couldn't cure them of their magical dependence, who could? She turned to drink and despair for a time after the revelation, but returned to sobriety when the Scourge attacked Azeroth once again. She served eagerly in the invasion of Northrend, and distinguished herself as an archer in the expedition.
She is suspicious of the Light infusion of the Sunwell. By nature, she simply does not trust gods or religious orders.
Dio was absent from the Isle of Thunder, but she did travel to Pandaria as guide and guard to a goblin trade expedition. She was never conscripted by Garrosh, as she was busy with the goblin contract at the time, but would have welcomed the opportunity to stymie Alliance hegemony - so long as she was paid well.
What is your character's skillset, what would they contribute to the Convocation?
Dio is a skilled hunter, tracker and archer. She fought in the Northrend campaign - and will welcome more conflict with the Alliance. Now that war between the two is brewing, she wishes to reintegrate into Sin'dorei society and ensure that no foreign army ever marches into Silvermoon again.
She is a superb shot with both bow and gun. Likewise, she has picked up some goblin engineering from her time among the Cartels, and employs their gadgets routinely.
How does your character's respond to authority?
Dio's failure in the Farstriders has played on her. She is no longer as young and brash as before, and has learned to value professionalism above all else. Her opinion on the leadership of Silvermoon is that they are in charge - and there's nothing else that matters. She does not plan on repeating her previous mistakes.
5) With the knowledge that the Wretched may never be cured of their ailment, what would be the most morally sound course of action in handling them?
"Sorry, is there even debate surrounding this? I've been away from Silvermoon for so long now that I've forgotten how... sensitive some of our kindred can be.
In my mind, there's never been a question of what needs to be done with the Wretched; they need to be purged. They are mindless monsters that are no different from the Undead... Well, the Scourge.
Look, I see the scepticism in your eyes and I suppose I ain't answered your question really, have I? You're asking about the morality of dealing with them. Right.
First off, that's a foolish question. What we should be asking is what is the most prudent course of action in handling them. And again, I return to the simple answer: purge. It'll be cheaper in the long run to just deploy the Farstriders on them, not to mention it'll do a lot for the security of Silvermoon. Gods forbid one of them is lucid enough to make common cause with our enemies abroad. I mean, fel, from a security perspective alone we're morally obligated to get rid of them.
But what's your answer? Corral them into pens and just wait for them to die? Hire enough men to keep an eye on them? Your way isn't any more merciful or enlightened - it's just less swift, and more expensive. So long as they continue to roam the countryside they remain a threat, so you'll need to put them somewhere. And if you put them somewhere you'll need someone to watch 'em. Maybe you plan on dumping them on the Kirin Tor?
I understand their addiction very well. I've lived it. But I never fell off the edge. That took discipline, and effort - so why should I restrain myself in the face of something so pathetic? They're no better than a rabid animal, and deserve the same treatment as one. What can I say? It's a tough world. If I turned into one of those... things... I'd welcome a clean blade against my throat. Wouldn't you?"
So you want to join the Convocation? This forum is here to give you a brief introduction to our guild and let you write your own applications for the Scions to review. Good luck!

Thank you for your application, Dionisio. Everything seems to be more than satisfactory from the apps we've received. I've given your account full membership to access the other forums and our discord server, through which you can get in contact with us out of game. It's recommended that you join in to meet the OOC community and for easier contact with everyone in the guild. For the IC interview I can be reached both there and by sending a mail to Anteran/Sorlain on the Sha'tar.
